1. Spend a day visiting the Acropolis of Athens

The Acropolis of Athens is the most important archeological site in the capital. Plan to get here early especially if you visit the site in the summer. There are many important buildings to visit, so take your time. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water with you.

In a clear day, the views from the hill are amazing: you can see the port of Piraeus and the entire capital. Do plan here to stay for the sunset as well.
