If you need yet another reason to visit Greece during fall, then consider coming to Thessaloniki for Ochi Day .

The national day of Greece, Ochi Day, is celebrated each year on October 28 and commemorates the resistance of the Greeks during the World War II. While parades and special services take place in all major Greek cities, Thessaloniki has something special. First of all, there’s a naval parade taking place. And secondly, on October 26, the city celebrates its patron, St. Dimitrios.

So, why not take your time and spend 4 nights in Thessaloniki? You can arrive on October 25 (which falls on a Tuesday in 2011) and leave on October 29 (which falls on a Saturday in 2011).
